Privacy at CLEF

Clear information about your data.

This policy explains what CLEF collects, why we use it, when it is shared, and the choices available to musicians, Bands, venues, and account managers.

Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to the CLEF mobile app and CLEF services operated by CLEF. It does not replace the privacy policies of third-party services you choose to use with CLEF.

Information we collect

  • Account and profile information: your name, email address, sign-in provider, age-verification status, role, profile details, photos, genres, links, venue details, and other information you choose to add.
  • Booking and marketplace activity: applications, open dates, set times, booking terms, pay terms, confirmations, team invitations, and related status history.
  • Messages and content: messages, reactions, photos, and other content you send or upload through CLEF.
  • Location information: a saved home city or venue address and, when you grant foreground permission, your device location to show nearby venues and calculate approximate distance. CLEF does not use your device location for advertising.
  • Billing information: subscription status and limited payment-method details such as card brand and last four digits. Stripe processes full payment-card and identity-verification information; CLEF does not receive your complete card number or identity document.
  • Device and diagnostics: device identifiers used for sign-in continuity, push-notification tokens, and crash or diagnostic information needed to operate and improve the app.

How we use information

  • Provide accounts, profiles, venue discovery, applications, messaging, calendars, booking terms, team access, subscriptions, and notifications.
  • Show relevant public profile and listing information to other CLEF users.
  • Verify age or identity where required and help prevent fraud, abuse, duplicate accounts, and unauthorized access.
  • Maintain confirmed booking records, troubleshoot failures, measure reliability, and improve the service.
  • Communicate about account activity, bookings, support requests, and important service changes.

When information is shared

We share information only as needed to run CLEF, complete actions you request, or comply with law. This may include:

  • Other CLEF users, when profile, venue, application, booking, team, or message information is part of the feature you use.
  • Service providers, including Google Firebase for authentication, hosting, storage, databases, and crash reporting; Stripe for billing and identity verification; Expo for push notifications; and Apple or Google when you choose their sign-in services.
  • Legal and safety disclosures, when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce agreements, respond to lawful requests, or address fraud and security threats.
  • A business transfer, if CLEF is involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

CLEF does not sell personal data and does not use personal data for third-party advertising.

Your choices and controls

You can update profile information in the app, control device permissions through your phone, and disable push notifications in device settings. You may delete your CLEF account from Profile → Settings → Delete account or use our external deletion page.

Open the CLEF account-deletion page

Deletion and retention

When account deletion is completed, CLEF removes the account profile, authentication account, owned listings, conversations, application-interest records, and device-link records associated with that account.

Some limited information may remain where reasonably necessary for confirmed-booking records, payment and accounting records, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. Third-party processors may also retain information under their own legal obligations and privacy policies. We keep any retained information only for as long as it is needed for those purposes.

Security

CLEF uses access controls, authenticated requests, encrypted network connections, and service-provider security controls designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

CLEF is not directed to children. Users must meet the age requirements shown during onboarding. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as CLEF changes. We will post the revised date here and provide additional notice when required.
